The Annual Wine Taste & Dinner Dance began in 1964 as a way for the Youngstown Ski Club to raise necessary funds, promote events, enjoy a night out, and introduce guests to the organization. Funds gained from this fundraising event are utlized to pay club bills, to subsidize trip costs, and/or donated to charity. The event itself is a celebration of wine, great food, music, dancing, and friendly commaraderie with the opportunity to win a variety of prizes. Participation has always been open to the public and only those of legal drinking age, as both members and guests, as well as friends and sponsors have enjoyed this time-honored event!

The event became so beloved and successful after its inception, that it has continued each year since! Numerous Club Volunteers diligently work on organizing every aspect of it through the following but not limited to: venue selection, food and wine selections, music choices of bands or DJ's, decoration committees, set up and tear down, invite letters and event flyers, promotion, donations and the request of donations, filing of a liquor permit, basket building, the sales of tickets, collection of tickets at the door, pouring of wine, raffle and alcohol sales, the making of desserts, and inviting and encouraging friends to participate. Each and every year, members have put forth unselfish and exemplary effort to ensure its success. Building upon the previous years' success and continuing this tradition has been an on going goal.  

The Annual Wine Taste & Dinner Dance is the Club's best fundraising event, and participation has always been strong. In fact, previous guests look forward to attending and just enjoying a wonderful night out. Over the years, the event has attracted between 75-300 participants per event, and several venues have been utilized during that time. 

Since recent venues base pricing on participant count, ticket sales are sold in "advance" and thus, we cannot offer door sales. Both the Club and Venues do not have a tolerance for participants that overindulge. It is strongly advisable that you compose your behavior at all times during this event. Club Volunteers, Facility Staff, and Security have eyes on participants during this event.

Join us for another fun night, this year with some Mystery and Intrigue once again! This year's event is similar to our previous event, as the MASQUERADE BALL theme is back! Participants are encouraged to support this theme by donning masks or related attire. Semi-Formal to Formal attire is strongly recommended.
